Current mood: excited
A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them.

She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat."

"Is the man of the house home?", they asked.

"No", she said. "He's out."

"Then we cannot come in", they replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. "Go tell them I am home and invite them in!" The woman went out and invited the men in.

"We do not go into a House together," they replied. "Why is that?" she wanted to know. One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!" His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?" Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!" "Let us agree to our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife. "Go out and invite Love to be our guest."

The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love Please come in and be our guest." Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him.

Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?" The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success. The other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love. Wherever He goes, we go with him.

Wherever there is Love,
there is also Wealth and Success

Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of death metal. Some bands have formed their own title, Gothenburg metal, named for the city it originated in. Originally the genre combined the harmony style and groove melodies of heavy metal with the harsh thrashing sound and vocals of death metal. Later the genre evolved due to many different influences, a notable evolution in the genre being the addition of keyboards
Melodic death metal contains more melodic guitar riffs, melodic solos, and acoustic guitar work than death metal. It also contains more comprehensible lyrics with traditional death growl and screaming vocals. The pioneers of melodic death metal include Dark Tranquillity, Carcass, At the Gates and In Flames. Sentenced is also sometimes credited as one of the first melodic death metal bands with their release of North from Here. Some melodic death metal bands from the Scandinavian region combine the genre with other metal genres such as viking metal (e.g. Amon Amarth), progressive metal (e.g. Into Eternity), power metal (e.g. Children of Bodom), symphonic metal (e.g. Eternal Tears of Sorrow), thrash metal (e.g. Arch Enemy & The Haunted), doom metal (e.g. Swallow the Sun) and folk metal (e.g.Eluveitie).

In the late 1990s, many melodic death metal bands changed their style of playing by adding more melodic elements; more melodic choruses and riffs and making more prominent use of keyboards. Also many melodic death metal bands moved away from the lyrical themes of death, gore, and murder common in other death metal groups.

Gothenburg sound
One notable contribution to melodic death metal is the Gothenburg style, named after the city from which it originated. It is not certain what band originally started the Gothenburg sound, however, it is widely accepted that Dark Tranquillity, At the Gates, and In Flames (The Three Kings) are three major pioneers of the style. They are also some of the only widely known bands to practice it, with newer bands such as Arch Enemy and The Haunted being offshoots of Carcass and At the Gates respectively. Some other notable bands in the Gothenburg sound are Soilwork, Gardenian, and Dissection (last album).

Regional scenes
Most melodic death metal bands are from the Scandinavian and Northern European regions, especially from Sweden and Finland. Coming out of Finland in the past decade have been three uprising bands in the melodic death metal genre, Mors Principium Est, Norther, and Children of Bodom. In recent years, the genre has gained somewhat of a popularity boost, acquiring an increasing following in North America, especially among North American fans of the Scandinavian bands which still pioneer the genre to this day. Melodic death metal has also spread to Australia with notable bands from the scene including Closed Casket, Switchblade, Daysend, Infernal Method, Red Descending and Pathogen.

Judas Priest headlined the Sweden Rock Festival in June 2008.
Iron Maiden's : Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Janick Gers, Adrian Smith.A second wave of British and American rock bands became popular during the early 1970s. Bands such as Grand Funk Railroad, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Queen, Alice Cooper, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Status Quo, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, The Who, and Uriah Heep played highly amplified, guitar-driven hard rock. Hard Rock fell into caricature and imitation in the late 1970s. Many practitioners released albums closer to progressive rock or disco. A few bands including Kiss, Black Sabbath, Queen, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and Rush maintained large followings and there were occasional mainstream hits such as Blue Öyster Cult's "(Don't Fear) The Reaper". Music critics overwhelmingly disliked the genre. This began to change in 1978 following the release of Van Halen's self-titled debut album. The album helped to usher in an era of more commercialized rock and roll, based out of Los Angeles, California. After the glam side of metal started to end, bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax returned to the original metal scene.

Led Zeppelin live at Chicago Stadium, January 1975.The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Grand Funk Railroad and The Who began the practice of live performances for large audiences in stadiums and arenas. The growing popularity of metal and progressive rock led to more bands selling out large venues. Entertainment companies marketed a series of arena rock bands, such as Journey, Boston, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Heart, and Foreigner in the late 70s. Corporate rock has many of the same characteristics with respect to mega-sales of albums and superstar level bands.[3] This music is frequently referred to a "classic rock" or sometimes "guitar rock"

Bands carried on driving the development of technology for large scale concerts, notably The Who, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Peter Frampton, Pink Floyd and Queen.

Day On The Green was the name of an arena-style concert series in Oakland, California, presented by Bill Graham and his company Bill Graham Presents. Held at the Oakland Coliseum Stadium, these events happened beginning in 1973 and continued on into the early 1990s.

Another Arena Rock band is U2, which has made one of the more extravagant Arena Rock experience: the Zoo Tv Tour, which combined the latest technology of the early 90's with the unique U2 sound and a big number of TV's and giant screens. It was considered as a multi-sensorial experience but it had a background message: the criticism of a society which spend hours in front of a TV screen.

Trinh Cong Son
He was born in Daklak, grew up in Huế, studied in Qui Nhơn, taught school in Bảo Lộc, then finally moved to Saigon in 1965. After the collapse of South Vietnam in 1975, he was sentenced to four years of hard labor by the Communists. A heavy drinker and smoker, he died of diabetes, liver and kidney failure. He wrote over 600 songs, achieving his first hit, "Ướt mi" ["Wet Lashes"], in 1957. Joan Baez dubbed him the Bob Dylan of Vietnam. He was frequently under pressure from the South Vietnamese government, which was displeased with the anti-war sentiments in songs such as "Ngủ đi con" ["Lullaby"], about a mother grieving for her soldier son, and "Cho một người nằm xuống" ["To one who has lain down"]. He often wrote about the ephemeral nature of life, as in the classic "Cát bụi" ["Sand and Dust"]. The singer most associated with him is Khánh Ly, whose husky, mournful voice helped to popularize his music. They often performed together on South Vietnamese university campuses. More recently, Hồng Nhung has also been celebrated for her jazzy interpretions of his songs. Along with Lou Reed, Arab Strap and The Married Monk, his music is featured on Trần Anh Hùng's film Vertical Ray of the Sun (2001).

In 1973, he starred in a film, Đất Khổ [Land of Sorrows], which compressed three seminal events of the Vietnam War: (1) the Buddhist uprising in Hue during 1965; (2) the Tet Offensive in 1968; and (3) the 1972 "Summer of Fire" (mùa hè đỏ lửa). It includes real footage of refugees fleeing the North Vietnamese' Easter Offensive of 1972. Steven Hunter of the Washington Post comments:

"A fictional family melodrama [...] it follows the course of the war as it implodes the life of five members of a family in Hue, including a draft dodger and a ranger captain. Those explosions in the background? Well, let's put it this way -- special effects courtesy of the North Vietnamese regular army."
This film--the only one ever directed by Hà Thúc Cần, a cameraman previously with CBS, now an art dealer with a gallery in Singapore--had its first commercial showing at Paris' Orient Theater in 1980 and its first US showing in the Fall of 1996 at the American Film Institute's Kennedy Center location in Washington D.C.; then at The University of Maryland and George Mason University as part of the Asian American International Film Festival that Đinh Từ Bích Thúy coordinated for the Greater Washington D.C. area. Đất Khổ was banned in South Vietnam before 1975 and in all of Vietnam since.
