MySpace, the world's most popular social network, along with the Department of Defense, announced the launch of Operation MySpace, a ground breaking concert event designed to bring troops serving in Kuwait a taste of home and Filter will be apart of it as they will perform for thousands of troops on this nationally televised event. On March 10, 2008 at 11AM PST, Filter's performance will be streamed on an exclusive hi-definition webcast on Myspace and later televised to millions on FX on April 12. Operation MySpace will also include performances by Jessica Simpson, Chris Cornell, Disturbed, DJ Z-Trip and the comedic genius of Carlos Mencia.
Their newest single "Soldiers Of Misfortune" is shipping to radio now and will be available for download everywhere in March 2008. The song is a rallying cry against the Iraq war, written in honor (as was the rest of the album) of a friend of Richard Patrick's who was killed in service after only being in active duty for a few weeks. The band will perform a large benefit show at the Rock On The Range festival on May 17.
