So, this was the track that's from the Anton Corbijn film. The sound and vocals sound like they came from the new album...I wasn't sure at first. I watched some of the film online and then downloaded it onto computer. This definitely has that modernized "Boy/October/War" sound to it...I love it when a band that has a history and chops can dip as easily into the past as it can venture off in to the future. Since "Winter" (sounds almost like a follow-up title to their first 3 albums from 1980-83) is a song recorded during the NLOTH sessions, it totally SUCKS that this wasn't included on the Limited Edition CD (or any variation of the album for that matter...guys, you're killing me!..now the album isn't complete, even though it sounds complete when you don't know about this song). This should've been the next to last song before "Cedars of Lebanon". However, now I know that U2 is releasing a companion LP to follow this 2009 album in late 2010 called "Songs of Ascent" that will include all of the other tracks and songs they recorded over the last 4 years or so; including "Winter" and a new song, "Every Breaking Wave" that they will release in 2010 to herald the second album's release. Bono's already confirmed this. It looks like fans got their wish...another U2 album in less than 5 years. It seems that once they got their creative juices and production values flowing, they had more songs than they could fit onto a single CD. How freakin' cool is this news?! We'll get to compare albums. If the second LP is anything like this new one in 2009, I will be in sonic heaven.

Thanks for the playlist comment. No Pink Floyd? One in every 20 people under the age of 50 in the United States owns a copy of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of The Moon." I guess you're part of the 19/20 who don't, lol. Seriously though, it is a masterpiece. I have the SACD version as well as the CD. I would recommend both, but if you have to make a choice just get the CD. The SACD's stereo mix is different from the original stereo mix. "Wish You Were Here" is another Pink Floyd album you'd probably like. I still plan on replying to your message. Work plus music has just been hectic lately, and then my computer at home got hit with a virus. After this weekend I should have it nursed back to health. Happy New Year!

Hi Anthony. I'll be writing you back this weekend. I also had H.P. Lovecraft in mind when I mentioned saving letters. Happy Halloween!
