Things that I believe matter most...I love the Lord. Serving God and staying in right relationship with him is my priority. I love the Word of God. I love to read. I am a lover and a seeker of TRUTH. I love to teach and share the truth with others. I love to encourage others. I love my God given anointed husband. I love my girls. I love growing. I remember the very day that I discovered that change was good!!! From the core of my being I am a worshipper. I find pleasure in the presence of my God. I am daily discovering my purpose in life and making quality decisions to manifest my destiny. I don't like religion and how the misconceptions of God damage the lives of people. Part of my purpose is to clear up misconceptions (as he reveals himself to me I reveal him to others). For that reason I know God connected me to Bishop McClendon and FHIC because it is a place where absolute truth is disseminated. Oh did I say...I love my Pastor and Church!!! I am in the 2nd phase of my life, it is good and it is God. I like being with my husband and girls (they understand me and I understand them). So, I think that about sums up what I will share for now. GOING FROM FAITH TO FAITH AND GLORY TO GLORY ..~UMIKA~.

In another part of Scripture Jesus was referenced as saying, "It is more blessed to give than to receive". This statement became alive in the early church. It implies that they were a community who knew each other enough to discern the true needs of people.

Charity was directly connected to community. It is easier to give to anonymous people than to take the time to get to know our neighbor. The act of giving in community requires discernment, humility, and trust in God and those involved. This is the heritage that God created for us to learn from and practice.

Galatians 6:9

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.


Paul reminds his readers that rewards are certain, but not immediate. One does not harvest a field of wheat the day after it is sown. Likewise, in the spiritual realm, rewards will follow faithful sowing in due time.

The apostle has argued at length that such works cannot justify (2:16) or sanctify (3:3) anyone. However, good works are, in fact, an important fruit of the life of faith (5:5) that God has planned for each believer (Eph. 2:8-10).
