actually, i think it fits pretty well into the "post-rock" genre of music. lots of other great bands like them out there (like Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky and Godspeed You Black Emperor just to name a few)

When listening to Sigur Ros, I feel diagonally parked in a parallel Universe. Always a delicious emersion of emotive sound scapes ...a literal bath of meaningful melodies. Genius ...pure genius.

Their music...is awe inspiring, whether it is a song of happiness or grief; it's just amazing music in its purest state. Love it...

They make me want to live.

I wish people would stop trying to classify their music. They're Sigur Ros, they have their own genre. Get used to it.
