Hello jis,

I'm fine here. How are you? The weather is hot. we're having a very warm week. I've got my summer clothes out and I'm wearing lots of cream and pink. *sigh* i love summer clothes :) y'know in this warm weather i dont like sitting at my laptop and I've been on the net a lot less which is why i'm replying after a long while.

my brain just turns to mush very quickly. I dnt sleep in this hot weather and it's getting to me. I'm like a zombie at work, everyone's like 'are you okay?'cos i'm staring into space for like 5 mins, lol.

i made the mistake of opening my window at night with th light on. a medium sized moth flew in. i wasnt scared at first cos i thought i cud push it back out the window. i approached it with a fly swat and it attacked me! I screamed and ran out the room. my mum was laughing and i was laughing too but i think it was scared laughter.

dnt worry abt showing ur inner geek. i dnt play d&d but it seems very interesting. how long does a campaign last?

hey, the other day I ate at a hindu-owned vegetarian resto. they did indian food with like lentils, sour tasting watery dips, samosas etc. Oh my, I wanted to take photos but the resto was too small to do it discreetly.

i went with friends and we ate for like 3hrs! no joke. at least we ate healthily. it was a very diff side of indian food - not rich at all ( eg buttery, creamy, oily!). sometimes i eat out and feel terrible but i was fine this time. do u like veg food? do u like indian cuisine?

i want to read JOdi Picoult but maybe with the movie coming out, its easier to watch the movie than read it, lol. i havent read or seen bridge to terabithia but my friend saw it and loved it. my friend has given me her anthony horowitz books - they're like harry potter only not. i want something easy to read so this shud be good.

the harry potter trailer looks awesome. that shud be fab to watch on the big screen.

I watched tekkonkinkreet. the soundtrack is indeed ace. i didnt love the movie - found it quite violent and disturbing - plus the kids fly abt randomly - but i loved the score.

hey, whaddya think of michael jackson passing away? were u a fan of his? its been a shock to me but i'm not overly saddened by it. i feel like part of my childhood has passed away. i had a nostalgia kick watching karate kid films on tv so i think thats made me feel nostlagic for the past.

well, take care, chat soon~~

thanks jis :) Oh yeah, I enjoyed my tabletop gaming a lot, even if it was the kind where you get a one-shot character and just do a little one-day mission or whatnot. I was originally resistant to the idea of being in a long multi-week thing with a single character because I feel like there would be pressure to see it through to the end even if I ended up not enjoying it, but lately I feel like I wouldn't mind giving that a try. Tori in general is much more of a gamer than I am (funny right!?), and I know there are groups here that do that, so there is a possibility that we might try something like that if she ends up coming up here for an extended period of time at some point, which is starting to seem more and more likely. And yeah, get to see her in only 9 days now! definitely looking forward to it. :D :D :D

I know what you mean about not liking to make tactical errors though. do you find you're a perfectionist in other areas as well? I kind of am. it's a trait that has both positive and negative aspects, I think.

anyway, enjoy your weekend! doing anything fun? have a good one!

oh I know it, time flies by. It sounds like you've been doing a lot of introspection and the like lately, that's good to do from time to time. And yes, am doing well! Just been here doing some summer research and counting down the days till I get to meet up with my gf--less than a month now! Luckily we've both had lots of time to talk on skype and such and our schedules are easysync, so it's been going well despite the distance.

It's great to hear that you've been in such a long-running relationship! Every relationship has bumps and it sounds like you work them out when they come along. Wishing the best to you two and your continued success. :)

The only context in which I've played tabletop rpgs has been at our uni's Game Guild--they do what they call "one-shots" which are short tabletop RPG sessions where you pick a one-night-only character from a set of premade ones, rather than what I guess is the normal thing of designing a character that you maintain over multiple sessions. I had a lot of fun with it though. I agree! Sometimes even when roleplaying a character I realize that I'm inserting aspects of my own decision-making in the way I respond to events and it makes me more aware of those aspects. Whoa - maybe I'm misinterpreting what you said, but it sorta sounds like you have some regret over some real-life decisions, which the gaming is making you think about? :( Hope you are doing okay! ;__;

I haven't seen Full Metal Panic but from what I remember hearing there are two seasons, Full Metal Panic which is more serious (though with some funny parts), and the sequel Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu! which is a wacky comedy through and through. I only saw Fumoffu. From what I remember, I thought it was pretty funny, with the exception of a few episodes that were just terrible!

Thanks!! The semester is over, I still have summer research and have to study for qualification exams but I'm glad to have classes and grading out of the way. hope that your work is going all right and that all your thinking about how you want your life to be has been yielding some answers for you! best wishes for the coming weeks. :D

heeeeeeeeey Jis, where yaaaa gone? I thought u said u wudnt go AWOL? I'm going to nag you into existence missy! j/k j/k well half kidding :P

Thank you for the well-wishes!! Every new relationship requires popping party confetti cannons and cute kittycats throwing colors every which way, IMO. thank you for providing! ;) And thank you for the "welcome aboard" as well -- I think your imeem has listed you as "In a Relationship" ever since I've known you, so I take it things are still going strong between you two? that's awesome. :)

But yeah! it's probably true in general that ppl tend to be more conscious of themselves when still single, and are more likely to let go of their figure when they're in a relationship... I'm just weird cause for years I haven't really been actively looking for a relationship of any kind, but this gal came along who I developed a huge crush on and it turned out to be mutual. It's kind of unconventional I guess since it started on the internet; we'd been good friends on this one particular site as well as AIM for a long time, and had done some videochat and such, and eventually decided to officially call it a relationship. unfortunately, it is very much long distance. BUT plans for multiple visits have been made this summer, and it's definitely conceivable that we'll be living in the same place sometime in the foreseeable future, so I think she and I can really make this long-distance thing work. Anyway, the fact that it is currently long-distance probably explains my desire to get in a little better shape. I want to make a good first-IRL-impression, after all. :)

That's wonderful. It's morning here and I can here birds chirping outside my own place as well; it really is very therapeautic. The apartment where I live now actually has cherry blossom trees outside that bloom in the spring, which I love. Are things still falling into place for you? hope all is well!

I gotta run--one more imeem comment to leave and then a LONG week of finishing up some research posthaste in time to give a lab presentation on Friday. i will probably be glued to microsoft excel almost all week. SADNESS. D: have a good week!

tee hee, i think i have icons to represent the entire range of human emotion. well, almost!

didja have a nice b-day? aaaaw, tis a shame u got no cake. let me remedy that for you. get ur dessert fork at the ready.

u wont have to worry abt calories with this cake ;) everything in moderation is what i always say. life's too short to count the calories. I love eveything cake-y so i may be bias but u gotta live life to the full, ya know? lolz @ ur friend's description of mcd caramel sundae. I've seen oreos on sale here but they arent popular food. They look intriguing tho. i like the contrast of the darkness of the chocolate and the whiteness of the cream. I need to sample it first tho before buying a big pack. Must hunt down a tiny pack sometime.

can i just say u paint a vivid picture with sitting at the beach, sipping on coconut juice. *iz jelus* it's so cold and windy here. we need spring sunshine but we're getting lashed by gusts of wind instead.

i havent read the Lovely bones but i rly want to. the book u read by alice sebold sounds interesting. Have u read My Daughter's Keeper? it's abt a girl who is born to be the organ doner for her older sis. the girl rebels against her parents and alll sorts of complications occur. The premise sounds rly good and a friend reccommended it. I saw it in the library but dint take it out cos it was too thick for me to carry.

I'm glad someone appreciated my onion poem!!!! it's by carol ann duffy. She rocks. i love british modern poetry. there's so much good stuff ard and she's one of the best. I'm in poetry mode right now. I'm toying with the idea of blogging a poem a day for a week on imeem. I think i might do it. even if no one else enjoys it, i'll always have a record of my fave poems. does that sound fun? or interesting to u?

True Blood is an american TV series and was adapted from a book. Me and my crazy vampires, eh? I cant get enough of em. Death is the new Black is an awesome name for a book. I'd want to read that just for the title alone.

The week has been craaaaaaazy at work. u dnt even wanna know. Just lots of pressure, stress-eating and short-fuses. Hopefully, it will be over by tomorrow and I can chill out on the weekend. are u all settled into ur new place?

thanks for watchmen review. I deffo will skip watching it at the cinema. my friend said she saw two old ladies walk out the theatre so i dont think its my cup of tea. :) i havent taken the watchmen quiz. can u link me up? i cant find it.

well, take care, chat soon, ~~

P.S. my b-day is 3rd sept. mark it in ur diary!

Description
is here for some music. tho believes a little chit-chat wouldn't hurt.

she enjoys the following, but not limited to: playing and poking and taking good care of her Nintendogs, dismantling puzzle games, immersing herself in the drumminess of Drummania, and arm-swaying her way with Wii. she is also into button smashing and assembling back the puzzles she dismantled from time to time.

but seriously, a girl like her can sing and dance really well.
