blog post Joe Bonamassa
Posted in Boys on Jan 11, 2008 at 11:59 PM
When Joe Bonamassa picks up a guitar, it is hard to find the words to say just how talented he is. Last year, Joe was named "Best Blues Guitarist” by Guitar Player Magazine in their annual Readers Choice awards.

We had the honor of watching him play this week. Seana and I just fell into a trance while Joe laid down mad blues and rock riffs. His voice is beautiful, but the finger-work, now that's something else. He has the ability to take the audience on a mind-blowing journey with his solos, the perfect medicine to heal the madness. For just about an hour, I forgot everything around me and just got lost in the music.
It's exactly what I hope to do an audience when I play. Reminds me what the music is for, ultimately.

Hugs…
Kim

blog post Southern Charm

I was raised with Southern manners—learning early to be polite, and always acknowledging people. Meeting strangers is an opportunity to learn something, or maybe even make a new friend.

Here are some guidelines:

1. Smile. People can’t resist a good smile. Show teeth.
Advice: Floss daily. Think about whitening strips
2. Ask good questions.
Advice: Listen to the answer
3. Make sure you find out one unique fact about each person, something entirely theirs.
Example response: “Wow. You can actually balance a fork on your nose? While juggling?”
4. Don’t ask for their number. Do offer yours.
Exception: If the guy’s cute, make him work for it.
5. Always leave them laughing.

blog post Pros and Cons

Current mood: fabulous

Why All of my Ex-Boyfriends Are Musicians…Emphasis on EX

Stereotypes are not necessarily a good thing, but there is a definite reason that they exist. Musicians, for instance, have a reputation for not being the best boyfriends. The problem is: I happen to only date musicians.

Every single time that I break up with a musician boyfriend I vow to NEVER date another musician…but I always go back. My friends don't get it. I don't really get it.

So I present to you…THE PROS AND CONS OF DATING A MUSICIAN

Pro: They are musicians-I am terribly attracted to talent and passion.
Con: They are musicians. There's a constant crowd, many many other girls all vying for their attention.

Pro: They are not generally "clingy"- which is good for me because I don't do "clingy"
Con: They tour, and months away from my boyfriend does not a happy Seana make

Pro: They know music, I know music- we have a lot to talk about.
Con: The easy music talk allows us to avoid more serious topics.

Pro: There is something incredibly sexy about a man and a guitar (I have always had a thing for guitar players)
Con: Personal hygiene is often a challenge (for them, not me)

Pro: Spontaneity. No real routine. I can't take 9-5'ers.
Con: You run the risk of playing second fiddle to the music.

Cons may outweigh the pros and I know (yes, I know) musicians may make bad beaux. But I don't think there's any way around it, I'm going to keep going there.

Hopelessly romantically yours,
Seana
