About Me (English)
AHMET YILMAZ, profile commentary (English)
HI FRIENDS, WELCOME TO MY PAGE ...
I’m AHMET.
I was born in a small town at the western black sea coast (Turkey). As I was a child I moved to Istanbul with my parents. I have been living in Germany since my teenager age.
I am up-to-date, laicist and live and love the western way of life like most Turks. I like to drink beer and wine and from time to time cognac, whiskey and Raki.
Meal must taste only good. All kind of vegetables, fish, meat and fruit belongs to my choice.
I am not religious; but I respect liberal religious people. I am against all kind of fanaticism.
I finished my mathematics physics studies at the J. W. Goethe University of Frankfurt as a diploma mathematician (Diplom-Mathematiker, Y. Matematik Müh.).
My practised profession is information technology; said more exactly I am a computer professional and IT controller. I am married and have a grown child.
I speak German, Turkish and English.
I am interested in economy, politics, history, social sciences and the Enlightenment etc.
My hobbies are running, swimming, dancing, music and videos and journeys.
I have a collection of over 7000 various pieces of music and approx. 1000 videos over the known films. I like all the kind of music apart from Arabesque and jazz.
My favourites are western films (cowboy films), farces, documentations, nature films, crime thrillers, mafia etc.
Of sports I am mainly interested in soccer, volleyball, basketball, and boxing and in dancing. I love the life and the women.
The Enlightenment in Europe and in Turkey which started with the great reformer Ataturk (1881-1938) at the beginning of the 20th century has impressed me particularly.
The problems of the Islamic world which counts over 1250 million people were allowed to be connected with that. To this day, they didn’t start with the Enlightenment of its society system which is based on religion as the case was in Europe until 300 years ago yet.
The laicism (separation from religion and state) regrettably is regarded as an irreligion or atheism in the Islamic world today yet.
I was till now, except for Europe in the USA, Canada, Australia and Morocco.
I would like to travel in Europe to some countries I have not seen yet.
Furthermore I am interested in the USA, Canada and Australia furthermore.
However, there is still much to see: Israel, Southeast Asia, Mexico, South Africa, Caucasus countries.
