About

Description
You wanna know about me? really, are you sure? Well...let me say something that isn't a lie. erm...I like people. That's why I'm dedicated to staying put in front of my computer everyday! :P

Oh, and I'm sarcastic if you hadn't already noticed. Although, I like to think of myself as sarcastic yet lovable. Like Groucho from Sesame Street. But I don't live in a garbage can. I prefer compost heaps.

Despite my love of anime and kids films, I am a fully fledged adult in my twenties. Hoorah!

If you like any of my songs, playlists etc, feel free to add your comments.

---------------------------------------------------------

I'm not adding anyone to my friends list. fed up of adding ppl who don't even bother to say thank you. I don't want to be just another number you can add to your friends list.

blog post Running on empty
Category: all about me
Posted: Jul 10, 2009 at 9:24 PM
Current mood: busy

So here’s the thing. I’m running on empty right now and I’ve kinda stepped back from commenting peeps. It’s nothing personal but I’m just really tired! I guess it’s kind of a hiatus but not really cos I still check my account daily.

I’m preferring to blog rather than comment. I find it easier to spill out my thoughts in blog form instead of addressing people individually. Basically, I’m being lazy but yeah...that’s my mode of operation for the time being. It’s a pity blogs aren’t more interactive on here.

I love the irony of my previous blog posts which goes:

Prophetic Blog Post of Doom – hey, check out my livejournal!

Week later…Goddamn you Imeem for your deleting hysteria *shakes fist at screen*

I’m pretty bummed out by imeem’s changes. It’s taken everything fun out of imeem. Now, I can imagine that the evil record companies had imeem’s balls in a vice to get them to switch to all 30 sec clips but no photos? Not cool. Seriously not cool.

Who bops around the room to 30 sec clips anyway? Do they really believe people don’t find it incredibly annoying? I always deleted those pesky clips out of my play lists but now everything is a blanket of 30 seconds.

Playlists were everything to my profile. Always prominently featured and thoroughly researched, it was my way of presenting ‘me’ to everyone around me. I had people friend me because they shared my music taste and I think that was a really nice way of bonding. I’m going to miss that. I no longer feature playlists because I think it’s pointless.

I listen to SPOTIFY now. If you are in the UK I highly recommend it. It has a vast music catalogue with only occasional ads.

Friends

As you can see, I don’t accept friends anymore. Plus, no more friends under 18s. I just don’t understand you people. I’m old!

If you want to catch me, I'm all over my lj right now. It's my new shiny toy.

Okay, peace out.

After almost a year of fumbling around in livejournal, I have finally managed to make an icon post, YAY! This momentous occasion has ushered in a new era for my icon making.

This is the preview of my lj batch:

Photobucket

Clicking on the pic will take you to my journal.

I will continue to post in my gallery but all the twilight stuff is going to get re-directed to my lj. It makes things easier I guess to post my stuff all in one place.

If anyone uses lj, please let me know. I'm still a n00b at using it and haven't been able to change my layout, lolz. Also feel free to friend me if you're an lj user too. lj won't take over from me using imeem so don't worry about that. I just want my icons to be displayed and shared in a more public arena and lj has more use for icons rather than imeem which is more focused on banners and layouts.

well, that's it for now. Toodles!

my dear friend... yeah i read your lj blog about what happened at your ex-workplace. i think theyve been cruel to you. in my bad state i could say " curse the company"! *evil grin*

you're back to school!? wow, girl, thats great! u have somethig to keep u busy :) are u still driving ?

im going back to school too, gonna get to formal language study for 7-8 months... need the certificate so i can apply to the career ive chosen. ive also to do a conversion of degree , and after that, proceed to masteral. it will take years till i get a masteral degree but ive already looked up for details so im prepared ... kind of nervous actually... new country..different system... english is not very well accepted... whatta new life for me, but im not alone afterall so my confidence is not dragged down

aha, a teacher to be! theo is teaching in a language school, he actually started today. he's teaching teenagers the english language, im not sure what level he does though. we didnt have something like this in Philippines , im glad, hehe

it's not yet time for him to get the Psychology permit, he needs to finish his masters.

he wanted to get to the online master course about Child Psychology over there, but he didnt manage to register early. British universities requires an earlier registration. maybe he'll do it next year... it's an online system so he's fine by it. this october he'll enroll in a Gestalt Psychology for masters , here, but he actually wanna go for children psychology.
anyway...

im really glad to see u back on imeem! it's been awhile :)

and oh, is that a new banner of yours? it's quite gorgeous! hugs and misses u girl... be well and smile!

q feei... :(
yah it's sad that imeem had come to a decision at last, to disable the video and photo uploading on the site.
i was shocked when i read the blog days ago,
but i managed to think what ill do with the photos on my profile and groups as well.
well there r still blogposts and they have not disabled the pic linking from other photo sharing site, so it isnt the end of imeem world for me. besides that, as long as music is concerned, and theyre not deleting the stuff i uploaded, then ive no additional comments to them.
ah yeahi have!
i wish they have at least gave us a limited storage for photos, rather than deleting all of them. dont u think so?
and videos!
oh.. i dun upload much of them so ive nothing against it.

and so how is this week for u girl?
it's been rainy-sunny here. guess summer is late everywhere in the western continents, yay.
weve mostly stayed at home cos we're doing other stuff at home.
how bout u there?
i see u have updated ur LJ account and frenzy it with new icons! im not sure if i had added u already... ill check my lj account soon. :)

just read the official imeem blog. click the " blog " which is found under our profile page.
ah how did u find the book i sent you? it's thick... so tyt :P

well dear, uve been missed!
im sorry that im slacking off in comments. i do this to everyone... *sighs*
old habits are hard to break.
but then u know,
im still here,
and i love my friend .
i need some spanking or something, lmao.

love and take care girl!

Hi Queen Fi ,

Yes, no more personal photos and video's upload for amateur artist and commoner now. Everything in your photo album and video will be gone by July 15. Better save them in your PC if you have not done so.Only professional artist and advertiser can upload it and share them. Tyrants took over and will forced feed us only on what they want us to hear and see.
Imeem took away the social freedom of expression which is one of the basic foundation of this site.
Imeem says that " less than one-tenth of 1% of imeem’s overall pageviews are photo-related. And playback of user-uploaded videos represents a similarly small percentage of users’ overall activity on imeem. Streaming music and creating music playlists are imeem’s defining features, and they’re far and away the most popular activities on the site. That’s where we’ve chosen to put our focus going forward. "

Ya, right ! streaming and creating music playlist that turns into 30 secs...

This site will just be a total music advertising site. You might even hear a commercial in the middle of the 30 secs songs in the future.
I'll just go back listening to radio or watch / listen to video music on tv which are also controlled by advetisers....same same anyway....

just really sad for us commoners who help this site. my doll photos even help to advertise this site for it has imeem.com in it and users from other sites grabs them from my album and uses them.

anyway, If you find a good replacement for this site please let me know...will follow my Queen.
Take care and have a lovely night.
hugs

hey fi, you sound so withdrawn. i hope you're doing okay.

I'm alright. though i do get bored from time to time. i went out of town last month only for a quick time and i do enjoy being away from the city. i love love love the greens and the seascape. well, i didn't get to swim but the change of ambiance is enough for me for a break. and nothing beats fresh clean air!

on our drive there, i get to see exotic-looking birds in the wild, giant fruit bats, and wild monkeys! well, i wish i could've taken pics of them but they fly away too quickly. and i suppose we were moving too fast too. we also went to the zoo (apparently, they have one there) where our companions made special arrangements so we wouldn't have to tour with other people (we move on a rather tight schedule-oh well). we get to feed crocs and tigers. the tiger part was fun. we rode a jeep with secured screen/metal railings for doors. part of the jeep's roof was open with fiberglass and railings too. one tiger leaped from the ground and stayed on the jeepney's roof while the driver drove us around the premises. we met some tigers really up-close. i was so tempted to pet one and stick out my hand since their fur look so soft and nice. but of course i didn't. well, one of my companion was lucky enough to pet one tiger's paw while we were feeding it. and the tiger didn't seem to mind the petting.

but it was okay, before we left the zoo, i get to pet and feed a tiger cub (which is big enough to be a tiger in my standards) and have a picture with it. heheh. so it was all good. ^ ^ (but you know, apparently we're not supposed to pet the head and i was doing exactly that and no one told me! O_O)

and oh, i got a copy of My Sister's Keeper. sad to say, i didn't like it too much. maybe it's not for everybody. it didn't made me feel sympathetic enough for the characters. and i hate what happened to Anna (main character) in the end. all those things she fought for and all the aggravations it caused the already volatile relationships were all for nought. now i'm not sure if i still want to watch the movie. i'm sure they'll change some parts.

speaking of movies, since i needed to wash My Sister's Keeper off my brain, i'm re-reading Harry Potter book 6 so i'd be up to speed again with the story when i watch Half-Blood Prince in the cinemas. i'm looking forward to see it in in the big screen!

yikes, i guess hot weather just doesn't agree with you. during hot days, i enjoy wearing shorts and sandals/flipflops (since the climate here is tropical). i'm all for comfort when it comes to clothing. had a bad experience before when i bought these really pretty pair of elevated designer doll shoes and i end up hurting my toe. so i said, that's it, if fashion is killing me, i'd rather be comfortable! so now i lean more on the cool and comfy.

moths are pretty harmless. and i'm sure you just don't like the moth in your room. that's why i don't trust opening windows at night if the windows don't have screens to keep the insects away. now this made me appreciate the screens in my room even more. be thankful it was a moth and not a roach! :P

abt DnD: well, this is actually my first time to play real DnD as the previous ones i told you about were somewhat different.

in the previous ones, we played DC superheroes and the Game Master made his own gaming system which is pretty neat. (i helped in making the character sheets, which i'm very proud of. heheh) the story there is way more rich and there were a lot of detective work and problem solving in the process-which would really force you to think to get past certain hurdles.

with this current DnD campaign, most of us picked from the 4th Ed players handbook 2 since we wanted to try out the latest additions in the character classes and races. it took me an hour and a half over dinner to finish my character generation. it wasn't that hard to generate one so long as you have an idea what you want to play in the game. i'm playing the glorified medic -which doesn't sound much but i get pretty useful keeping my teammates alive throughout encounters, and i have to play it smart so i don't end up dying in the end, hahah.

as for the length of the campaign, it really depends on how long you guys want to play it. and the availability of the players. with this one, it's set to end by the end of the month and we only get to play once every weekend. i'm actually looking forward to play this weekend. ^ ^ if you want, there are also one-shot campaigns. but one-shot campaigns may seem too short especially when you're enjoying. :)

ohoho, vegan indian food! that sounds yum! i don't remember the last time i had indian food. i'm sure missing my indian food fix! yup, i do love em. :) i'm glad you enjoyed your dining exp. :) bdw, weren't there a huge indian festival in london recently?

not sure if i mentioned this to you before. but i tried eating at an all vegetarian place before and they serve the most delicious fruit shakes. they even have a mushroom sandwich and a banana sandwich. exotic stuff for me but pretty amazing. i'm sure indian vege is all different. and i bet they're good food.

oh, i've seen tekkon kinkreet. and i love the story. some parts get psychedelic and the premise is pretty street-raw and brutal. and yes, the soundtrack is definitely ace.

as for the king of pop, i heard about it first over the radio on my way to work. at first i thought it was some kind of a sick joke. i didn't want to believe it until i saw the news online. i'm not a huge fan but i like some of his songs. i wasn't too saddened either though i felt sorry that he died when he was about to bounce back. and yup, looking back at those LPs felt so long ago.

well, the week is almost over. let's enjoy the most of it.
:)

Hey,how's ya summer?:)
Jun 29th, 2:58pm
hey fi! Glad to hear the frustrations at work have fizzled out, at least in part. Nothing ruins a good week faster than unnecessary drama. But it sounds like you stood up for yourself and that it paid off! Congrats! It takes courage to do that, nice work!

Nah, my essay test is at the end of the summer, and may not happen until the beginning of the school year actually. I still have to get the straight story on what all the details are so that I can figure out how much I need to be studying. I'm supposed to be doing research all summer, but my summer stipend was quite small and accordingly I haven't been working that hard, and my research advisor hasn't seemed to mind. So yes, been taking it easy for the most part. Hopefully I won't regret it later.

Btw, I added you on Livejournal, hope you don't mind... sadly I don't have a blog there really, my account there is mostly for reading up on friends' blogs.

It went well with my gf, thanks for asking! She lives 1000 miles away--she's in Florida (southeast corner of the US) and I'm in the northern part of the mideast. So, pretty far! D: The good news is that she's not particularly tied down to where she is, and will be visiting for awhile this month, in part to evaluate whether she would consider moving up here at some point. She wants to go to college or get a job and opportunities are slim where she lives, plus she is really sick of living with her mom, so she has been thinking seriously about moving away for some time now.

But yeah, we had a great time--went to the Epcot theme park, the beach, an anime convention, a concert, and a few other things too. It's a little sad to be back by myself. Speaking of theme parks, YOU CAN'T IGNORE THE CAROUSEL. You were right to insist.

I've only been to a vegetarian restaraunt once, when I lived in California, but it was excellent. Yeah, who knew that lentils, chickpeas, and soy could be prepared in so many different delicious ways? I liked it.

Ok, I gotta scoot too--my friend Asaf and I are going swimming in a bit and I have to take a shower first. Good hearing from you, glad to hear you're doing okay!
