My human name was Edward Anthony Masen. I "died" when I was 17 and dieing of Influenza, Carlisle Cullen tried to save me as my mother requested and he did so the only was he could, that being turning me into a vampire. Carlisle trained me to resist the need to drink human blood and instead I was raised drinking the blood of animals, my favorite being the Mountain Lion. I also discovered that I had a natural gift, the ability to read others minds, though it only spans over a few miles, increasing in range the more familiar the persons mental voice becomes. Over the years we adopted many members into our family, my sisters Alice and Rosalie, and my brothers Emmett and Jasper. We had been living in Forks, WA for quite a while and had made a truce with the local Quileute indians. Many years later the daughter of local police chief Charlie Swan moved to Forks. At first Bella Swan took me as average and uninteresting, but when she sat next to me in our Biology class for the first time, her blood smelled like the sweetest thing in the world to me, it took all my control to keep from drinking it right then and there in that classroom and one other thing that struck me was my inability to hear her thoughts. Since that day I got to know her better and we fell in love, married and had our beautiful daughter Renesmee.
