THE NEW DANCE SHOW was a Detroit TV program that ran in the 1980s and throughout the 90s. Filmed locally with residents of Detroit and surrounding Highland Park, the show today stands iconic for its featuring of underground electronic music (synonymous with Detroit) and its energetic dancers.
It went off-the-air after CHANNEL 62 was bought-out by CBS.. It's been sorely missed ever since.
PLAYLIST: Most of the music gathered below appeared on THE NEW DANCE SHOW, but because the genre of Tech-Bass (Ghetto House) continues to dominate the Motor City, newer tracks that would inspire the show today are also included.
