F'n Classic! This was one of the 1st songs I heard from Blondie when I was 4 years old in 1978. I almost prefer this original 1976 version over Blondie's (and that's saying a lot), but Deborah Harry's crazed vocal display in 1978, the added ad-lib Chris Stein/Frank Infante guitar interlude, Jimmy Destri's keyboard stylings, and Mike Chapman's dynamic, distinctive punk production puts theirs over the top. Bravo, Jack Lee. Too bad this early proto-punk group didn't last longer. Am I the only one who's surprised that The Ramones didn't try to cover this in the '70s? Lee's vocal could've easily fit Joey's. I think that Blondie's new album in 2010 should include a new cover of "Paper Dolls", in a nostalgic nod to their 1978 cover of this classic and Mr. Lee.

One of the best power-pop songs, ever.

This is the original version. Blondie covered this a couple of years later.
