Can you believe that the name rainbow catle started when Miss Joyce Abdool and her daughter, owned an exotic club in Down Town, Kingston where they ran a number of businesses for about ten (10) years? The club was then destroyed by fire, not insured and with no money and nothing to do the mother/son and grandmother was sitting on their varanda talking as usual one day, when "Shotty Pooh" son/grandson and entertainer (got his name from friends) said to is mom and grandmother, nonchalantly, "Why dont one of you manage me and the other on produce me"? it was an innocent enough chat but for some unknown reason mom and grandma was touched, only then did they found out he hang out at the Studio round the road with friends without any hope in sight. Then; without any musical knowledge whatsoever and only about JM$12,000 "Pooh" and his grandmother set out to buy a "24 track", yes; they got one; but soon discovered it was a tape reel for movie, hell no the hardest thing was to get back the money, but knowing Miss Joyce/Grandma, she is one of the most determined person you could meet. That still didnt stop her six (6) years ago when she started, lots of tricks, robbry and "dissments" disencouragements and being told "this is a mans world" later Rainbow Castle Production is still praying for that ugh success and dedicated to help even one person out of each "ghetto" cause the youth the musically talented. Then that entertainer, were positive will, without force or will, is gonna have have some upliftment in his community some how, even his friends will have some form of work through him, to feed their families. Its a chain reaction thing. Rainbow Castle production through all these years of hard work, dedication and wanting to prove we an do it have seen a lot of artist come and go because of the real tough hardship of the music business, but regardless of everything, we have people thats depending on us, as we are on ourselves and we hope with all our heartswe will get a helping chance to help others that needs a chance. Six very good albums done by us, with alot of very popular entertainer, inc. Elephant man, beenie Man and Sizzla, to name a few, om a riddim called Static and still no company signed us. We were even tricked by associates that took our materials to be signed and never hear them again, but regardless of all the set backs; Rainbow Castle is still working very hard, still learning, still trusting and now seeing a light at the end of a long dark tunnel. Miss Joyce Abdool is orginally from St. James she then moved to Portlandwhere she had her four (4) kids, two (2) boys & two (2) girls. shen then moved to Kingston where she learnt her street savvyness but never lost that "Country Girl" down-to-earth sweetness, that always have people wanting to be around. Rainbow Castle hope to one day see their artists going global and doing great things inmovies and as spokes person for major businesses, we are dedicated to play our part to restore hope to the hopeless and atleast hope, that will help to eliminate crime.
