J or Baby J, stands for Jessica Holmick. She's the lead singer of Capital Underground. I think she's half korean which explains the asian features. ^_^

Not Mariah Carey. MC has more ghetto attitude, even in soft sounding songs. This may be by a Korean singer simply named "J." Would explain the simple sweet subtleness of the sound. i.e. no extra mainstream American artist "flavas"
