Michael Jackson, the legendary King of Pop, died Thursday at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. The assistant chief coroner for Los Angeles County, Ed Winter, confirmed Jackson's death and said his office would handle the investigation as to the cause of death.

The sensational child star, Michael Jackson, grew up to become the "King of Pop" and undoubtedly the biggest celebrity in the world. Sadly, though, the King of Pop fell from his throne after a series of scandals and controversies concerning his personal life.

Michael Jackson's death brings to an end the long and oftentimes bizarre musical career that peaked in the 80's. At that time the King of Pop dominated the Grammy's and the charts, and dazzled everyone who saw him performed on stage.

Jackson's album, "Thriller", is the best selling album of all time. The album included blockbuster hits such as "Beat It," "Billie Jean" and "Thriller." It sold an estimated 50 million copies worldwide.

Michael was probably the most exciting performer of his generation. He ranks alongside Elvis Presley and the Beatles as the biggest pop sensations of all time.

Michael Jackson was preparing for what was to be his biggest comeback. He was scheduled for an unprecedented 50 shows to be held at the London arena. The first set of shows was to be July 13. He was actually rehearsing in Los Angeles for the concert.


His friend, singer Dionne Warwick, was reported to have said of Michael Jackson: "We have lost an icon in our industry.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the King of Pop is no more.
