The Gallery Lombardi Group
I'm still recovering from the amazing trip I got to go on courtesy of Imeem and Gallery Lombardi. This experience started in the late afternoon over at Gallery Lombardi where Nate was gracious enough to let me paint with some of Texas's finest graffiti writers from all over. Rachel scored an excellent wall parallel to the gallery in the parking lot of the space. It was good to catch up and meet new Texans who are excellent in art and humble as all hell. Got to relax a little bit Friday night in preperation for all of the festivities that is to come on Saturday evening.

Saturday evening's festivities started a little later than Friday night (thank goodness because the sun was blazing all day!), complete with an outdoor DJ set up and the Pieced Together doors opening to early gallery goers right at 7pm sharp. I started my painting at 730pm right as the sun was setting so that it would be a little more comfortable for myself and the crowd that gathered around to watch. The painting was a lot of fun and I didn't want to disappoint so I did the best I could before it got real dark keeping in mind that there were so many amazing artists around me the whole time. The experience was surreal and all the people there were very supportive of what i was doing. They even clapped when I got done! That's definitely a first.

I can't thank the staff at Gallery Lombardi enough for their hospitality, Nate Nordstrom for taking care of everything I needed for the whole weekend and the people of Austin for making my trip one of the best so far this year!

Thank you Imeem.com and Gallery Lombardi!

Sincerely

Revise CMW

Current mood: fabulous

Drumroll....

Rachel says:
"Won Kim is the winner, we think that he is aka Revise!! coming out of Chicago!... We had some very strong entries, big shout outs to Jaber, Video, Amo, and the all the others that made it fricken hard to choose. Evok your work is dope we are honored you entered -but Canadians were ineligible, we'll change that rule if we do this again. The mixtures of letters, characters and styles was a treat for our eyes. It's great to know the true aerosol heads are out there doing their thing. Won Kim has a great pallet rocking a bright look. We liked the variation in his lines, with the thick and thin details. The flourishes and details did not distract from the strong composition, the overall shape on the wall looked great. I think he's got the experience & style make a great piece live. His work is developed, his style is fresh and he really puts time into his pieces. Jaber you were #2 and we want you to come back to Austin real bad."

Sloke says:
"That is dope, it's really clean, he's got can control."
