imeem Brings Together Personalities From Film and Internet to Chronicle Sundance Behind the Scenes
PARK CITY, UT -- Jan. 24, 2006 -- At this year's Sundance Film Festival, actors, directors, Internet junkies and celebrity bloggers are sharing their experiences via the Sundance blog project at http://sundance.imeem.com. Using imeem's innovative internet service for photo and video sharing, blogging and instant messaging, the bloggers are capturing some of the festival's most exciting moments and unrehearsed scenes.

Sundance + imeem: An Inside Look at Sundance

A mix of top bloggers from the film and media industries have signed up to use the service and have joined the Sundance blog project -- including infamous celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, Efren Ramirez from "Napoleon Dynamite" and Ham Tran, director of the Sundance film "Journey from the Fall."

"This is my first feature film ever, and it's my first time at Sundance, so I'm twice as thrilled," said Tran. Chronicling his experiences through imeem, Tran is one of the star bloggers delivering updates about the latest film premieres, deal makings, as well as the daily struggles of an indie filmmaker. A special portion of the imeem service is devoted to bringing the big screen to your screen -- via candid photos, videos and uncensored commentary that keeps users update and "in the mix" -- almost like being at Sundance.

"It's a world of possibilities," said Hilton about the Sundance experience. "I hope to meet a lot of people -- you hear that it's just like L.A. in the snow. The most exciting thing that I'm going to be doing is exploring the wonderful imeem service and talking to people."

Featuring 120 dramatic and documentary feature-length films from all over the world and hosting some of the most famous big screen names, the Sundance Film Festival has long been the premier event for directors, filmmakers, actors and partygoers. imeem's unofficial photo blog allows everyone to remain close to the action through the eyes of imeem's Sundance bloggers.

Open call for participants

All Sundance attendees are invited to join in the fun and post photos by emailing them to: sundance@imeem.com.

"I'm looking forward to all the great music acts that perform during the festival," said Ramirez. "And of course I'll be showing off my DJ skills at parties and my blogging skills with imeem!" Ramirez and his co-producer Chris Barrett of the hit documentary "The Corporation" are using imeem to share their experiences at Sundance and are filming a video journal for CurrenTV, Al Gore's new cable channel.
