The Pieces of Peace were a band that arose from the primordial stew of 1960s Chicago to become the band behond the Windy City soul sound. This album is arguably the most important lost document of Chicago soul music. In a city filled with recordings that disappeared the moment they were laid to tape, this is perhaps a tall claim to make. But this is it. This is the one! The holy grail of Chicago funk and soul is found at last!

The self-titled album is being released October 16th on Quannum Projects/ Cali-Tex -- the tracks were originally recorded in 1969 for release on the Scarab imprint. Soon after, the band broke up, and the album was shelved. Their debut LP will be released for the first time, finally giving Pieces of Peace their due!

This is the fourth release from DJ shadow's Cali-Tex imprint, and Shadow himself meticulously restored and remastered the original recordings.

This is going to be an EXTREMELY limited release (1000 LPs and 2500 CDs), and when they're gone, they're gone. So don't sleep on getting your copy.
