And it's not because of the smog, clouds, or whatever. California is burning (most through arson). 23 different fires were blazing at one time throughout Southern California (and on top of that, we're in a drought). Burning homes, killing animals and people, and the firefighters couldn't get ahead. Until now...now there are only 9 fires currently blazing (10-27-07).
5 are in San Diego county, 2 in San Bernardino county, one in Orange County, and one in LA county (where I live). It's scary, so scary my best friend and her husband came up from San Diego to stay here for a few days because the fires were VERY close to where they actually live. Thankfully nothing happened to them, but many other people weren't so fortunate. Pray for these people, because they probably lost everything they own.
I know most people think that if you live in CA then you're rich and live next to Mel Gibson, but that is FAR from the truth. We're people just like the rest of the world...in dept, having to work 40+ hours a week just to have a roof over our heads and food in our bellys. Life is hard on any person, even those of us in California.
HUGE kudos to those firefighters who fought the blazes! Cause you have to think, they didn't get a break. Once one was put out they had to rush over to back up other firefighters in another location. So if anyone were actually super human, I would say they are.
