Sara Bennett is the daughter of Bernard Bennett, a member of the United States Marine Corps and former southern California band drummer, and Leslie Bennett, who was runner up Miss Texas, a requested singer with Johnny Rodregues, and a model.
Sara was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 17th, 1994. She is also the granddaughter of Ava Hatfield, a former model who was the late Buck Owens' cousin.
Sara got her start in entertainment when she was only four years old! She was very interested in writing and hoped to become an author of a best selling novel some day. She began writing books at age four.
"I used to sit at my dining room table and I'd write these chapters that seemed really long, but when I looked back on it, they were only about five sentences long for each chapter," says Sara.
Around age nine, Sara gave up on writing novels and picked up music.
Sara really wanted to be in a band or singing group, so she began attempting to get some friends together to create a band.
"I watched an episode of The Suite Life Of Zach And Cody a long time ago and it was the one where they had the battle of the bands and I thought that it was really cool to have a band, so I started trying to get people at school to join my group," Sara explains.
At age eleven, Sara gave up on the band idea, claiming that "The people I asked weren't really friends of mine and we all had different schedules and I realized that I didn't want to be in a group because it'd be too much trouble and I'm not very good at working with other people anyway."
Trashing the band idea, Sara went solo and got into singing and songwriting.
"I had been songwriting since I was ten but I kind of stopped and gave up because I just wasn't very good at it."
Sara taught herself how to sing and then picked up songwriting again.
"I wasn't that good at singing at first because I would sing with my talking voice instead of my singing voice because I didn't know the difference, but eventually I figured it out and I started getting really good. My songwriting improved tremendously."
At age twelve was when Sara hit it big meeting the Jonas Brothers. They got to know eachother and soon became good friends. Sara began performing and writing songs with them and still is currently.
Sara began recording her music at Arista-Nashville Production Studios and her songs started being played on radio stations and were featured all over the internet.
At age fourteen, Sara decided to get back into writing stories. At first, it didn't go so well, but then quickly improved. She also got interested acting.
"My book writing started really taking off and then I thought about how cool it'd be to be on a tv show or in a movie. I'm very much interested in acting now, but I'll never give up my true calling, music."
Sara says her goals to reach by the time she turns fifteen are: get signed with Hollywood Records, publish a novel, see her old friends, hopefully record an album, set up an internet tv show, and go back to church.
