I like the beat. Its soothing and motivating at the same time. Could make me go to sleep or wake me up too. And i totally agree with James Harrison (below) that this song takes you to another place, and its like that with all Sigur Ros songs! And yes, it is fantastic.

This band doesn't get enough credit or exposure in the US... Hopefully that will change with their new album coming out this year.

One of my favorite Sigur Rós songs, definitely. The album's title and titular song, "Agætis Byrjun," is an Icelandic term that roughly translates to "An Alright Start".

I believe some if not most of the album is sung in a language that they refer to as "Hopelandic," basically a made-up version of the Icelandic language where you can pretty much decide the meaning to the lyrics. Personally, I think it's beautiful music.

Take a look at the lyrics here. They make references to what I think are childbirth, though this could be taken figuratively, signifying a renewed sense of self. I don't know. Decide for yourself!
