It starts off with Joel on his acoustic guitar and some keys providing backing and builds to a massive instrumental ending with 2 extra drummers on stage with a snare each smashing away...

On the evening of Sunday, March 9th 2008, thousands of worshippers gathered to fill the Acer Arena in Sydney as Hillsong Church recorded their latest live worship album.

It was an unforgettable night. An encounter with God that left the thousands who filled the stadium humbled and in awe of the wonder and grace of God and the reality of Christ.



We come together and we say, "This is who we are, God. We need You, we love You, and we're going to give everything to You. It's actually about the church coming together and singing with One Voice, One Passion, One Heart, giving all our praise to God" Said Joel Houston.

The church was truly united in heart and passion - and the breadth of the hillsong worship team was reflected as a number of new songwriters, worship leaders and musicians joined Darlene Zschech , Reuben Morgan, Joel Houston and Marty Sampson on the platform to capture the sound of the generations old and new together in worship and song.

For those interested in who played…

Drummers: were Brandon Gillies and Rolf did a half each, Gabe made an appearance with a snare for the last song.
Bass: Matt Tenni and Bob.
Keyboards: There were 4 keys players, with 3 playing at any one time, Kev Lee, Peter James, Autumn and Dave Andrew.
Electric Guitars: There was a stack of guitarists and for most of the songs there were 4 electric guitarists going at the same time… Nigel, Timon, Ben Fielding, Dylan Thomas, Andrew and Joel (from the Gromies), Jad, Dean Ussher.
Reuben played electric all night.
Acoustic Guitars: Joel, Jill, Brooke, Marty and Sam Knock.There was also a small string section for a few songs and then a brass section for another bunch of songs.

"Hall To The King" New Album 2008



INTERVIEW WITH THE LONDON TEAM:

There is a new album due out in October this year. The album title will be "Hail to the King". We actually recorded the live DVD back in February and have been working on that since then. We've had one of the world's best live music video director's working on this, Hamish Hamilton and the results so far are stunning. I can't wait to finish it and get it out there. We really captured a moment in the life of our Church.

The audio for the DVD is just about done and we're about to start work on our first ever studio recorded CD, which will go with the DVD. We made the decision this year to record our CD in the studio, which is great as it adds another dynamic to the sound we're able to produce. One of the UK's best sound engineers, Matt Lawrence is working on the CD with us, so once again I'm expecting the results to be outstanding.



Above all I hope it captures the message that the Church ­ the body of Christ ­ is God's plan to reach the world with the message of grace. A message of acceptance, a message of love...the message of Jesus, the visible image of the invisible God.
