I put a lot of time and energy into the playlists that I create on Imeem. So much so, that others would rather copy my shit rather than create their own. WTH?

Essentially, I think it's cool and I'm flattered that folks like the shit I create on here, but for real, would it be too much to give credit to the originator? If not, then what would be the point of being someone else musically? I thought the whole point of Imeem was to explore the tastes of others, not copy it.

Like I told misstrizz over here, I try not to sweat the followers, but unfortunately, I'm human, and the crap is starting to piss me off just a little bit...

So friends, what do you think? Has this ever happened to you? Hell, do you even know if this has happened? Or do you even care?

Update: Okay, some folks seem to think I'm making this up, so here's a link to some evidence, I just decided to pull one example - my playlist and the duplicate

So it's been a minute since I've logged on to Imeem, but as I'm checking my mail, I find a link to Imeem's answer to the 30 sec previews....

What are 30-second previews?
When you find a song on imeem that is a 30-second preview, it means that the artist or record label that has registered the song in our database has not approved full-length streaming for our users. Consistent with copyright fair use principles, the song will be streamed to you as a 30-second preview.

If you already have the song in your music library on your computer, upload it to your imeem profile and listen to it full-length. You can always listen to entire songs that you’ve uploaded to imeem; they will not be converted to 30-second previews. If you do not have the song in your music library, you can buy it on iTunes or Amazon.com

Just so you know, there are already millions of songs on imeem that we have permission to stream at full-length. We are constantly working with labels and artists around the world to add more, and we are adding thousands of songs each day. Stay tuned!

So, as much as it's KILLING me to only hear 30 secs of my friend's songs, I'm gonna stay on Imeem and ride this out. Besides, I come here for more than just music. I come to get to know new people and make friends, and network. So, I'm really hoping that Imeem can come out of this trying situation.

Naturally, when I created all my playlists, I made it a point to steer away from songs that were only 30secs long. Now with Imeem making it a point to turn users songs into 30secs, I'm losing the desire to create any new playlists. :( Are any of you experiencing the same thing? I know one of my friends (Sanchez) had ALL of his music removed... :o

I guess the fun times are almost over here at Imeem :(
