Wow. MIDI version, human, electronic, or whatever! It's still so good.

This is not an instrument being played by a human, it is a MIDI version that takes the music and plays automatically. That is why it has no depth and sounds very electronic, and also why the presto part is played so exact. I am not saying that a person couldn't play this, its just that after you hear a MIDI version, you know it sounds exactly like this. Cheers!

To John Perez I think it's probably an electric keyboard with the type of sound set to...well...whatever setting this is. Eg, organ setting. But you know, it sort of sounds like that really ancient type of piano-like instrument...the one that was played during Shakespeare's time for scenes during his plays. I can't remember what it was called, but it had a sound similar to this... Though I have to say, the version played on the old-fashioned piano sounds a lot better.

Kyo -

This is the entire piece with all three movements.

As for it being his last piece, the piece is known as the Sonata #14 or or the Sonata Opus 27 #2. Beethoven composed another 18 Sonatas as many as a hundred or more total pieces after composing this piece so he did not die immediately after he did this piece.

He was completely deaf many years before he died and had long given up performing publicly so no, he did not die after a concert.

According to scientists in Vienna, Beethoven was ill for years prior to his death. He eventually died of lead poisoning. His doctor: Andreas Wawruch, treated him for fluid inside the stomach with salts laced with lead. As Beethoven was suffering from cirrhosis of the liver as well as edemas of the abdomen, the lead from the treatments permeated Beethoven's liver and ultimately killed him.

Perhaps you might have confused Beethoven's death with that of the overly romanticized death of Mozart in the movie "Amadeus."

OH... and after listening to the entire piece I'm actually wondering what sort of instrument this is - perhaps something electrical that doesn't allow one to change the tone in one's play as the player's technique, particularly in the presto - is quite good. That first movement, however is really dreadful.
