Normally I'd write all about myself in this little section, but we're going to switch it up just a little bit. Instead, I'm going to tell you, the curious page viewer, all about a little somethig by the name of Godzillafest.
Each year some kids get together and put on a concert to raise money for an Non-Profit Organization called Invisible Children. It's huge, too. A lot of fantastic bands of all genres support this cause by performing at the concert. You can help too. The money raised at the event will be donated to Invisible Children. What is Invisible Children?
Invisible Children is a social, political and global movement using the transformative power of story to change lives. By inspiring youth culture to value creativity, idealism and sacrifice, the movement fuels the most effective, adaptable and innovative programs in the world. Right now, northern Uganda is facing the end of 23 years of war. Reconstruction and rehabilitation are on the tip of everyone’s tongue…but nearly 50% of all peace agreements fail to last a decade before war breaks out again. The war in northern Uganda has been called the most neglected humanitarian emergency in the world today. For the past 23 years, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and the Government of Uganda(GoU) have been waging a war that has left nearly two million innocent civilians caught in the middle. The GoU's attempt to protect its citizens from this rebel militia has largely failed, leaving an entire generation of youth that has never known peace.
