With one week to go the band has been super busy scurrying around the studio adding detail to the menagerie of tracks we've already recorded at various studios in L.A. and N.Y. We just had the fortune of Todd Sickafoose (Ani Difranco, Tre Anastasio) coming to town to play bass on the record. Later this week we will be recording a string ensemble for a few tracks which include "safety in numbers" and "in bright fire" both of which many of you are familiar with from our live shows. We have pushed our core musical boundaries for this recording which brings it's own kind of success for us internally. It is a little bittersweet to have worked for over a year on the writing of this record and be near the completion of all these songs. done. finished. over. Listening to the rough mixes in Los Angeles right now while remembering the birth of these songs in Hells Kitchen in the back of Gibson Guitar. Once we are back home we’ll get to work on a few more tracks for the record that we will produce ourselves plus some extra material for promo etc. I have no idea what the time table is for the release of the new material but hopefully by the end of summer this record will be out. Hope to see shiny faces soon in shiny North American cities.
