This is my way of life!
*********************
A man's mind is like a garden, which may b intelligently cultivated or allow 2 run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, & will bring 4th. If no useful seeds r put n 2 it, then an abundance of useless weed seeds will fall there n, & will cont' 2 produce their kind. Let a man radically alter his thoughts, & he will b astonished @ the rapid transformation it will effect n the material conditions of his life. Men imagine that thought can b kept secret, but it cannot. It rapidly crystallizes n 2 habit, & habit solidifies n 2 circumstance. Bestial thoughts crystallizes n 2 habits of drunkenness & sensuality, which solidify n 2 circumstance of destitution & disease. Impure thoughts of every kind crystallize n 2 enervating & confusing habits, which solidify n 2 distracting & adverse circumstances. Thoughts of fear, doubt, & indecision crystallize n 2 weak, unmanly, & irresolute habits, which solidify n 2 circumstances of failure. Indigence, & slavish dependence. Lazy thoughts crystallize n 2 weak habits of uncleanness & dishonesty, which solidify n 2 circumstances of foulness & beggary. Hateful & condemnatory thoughts crystallize n 2 habits of accusation & violence, which solidify n 2 circumstances of injury & persecution. Selfish thoughts of all kinds crystallize n 2 habits of self-seeking, which solidify n 2 distressful circumstances.... Men do not attact that which they want, but that which they r. Their whims, fancies, and ambitions r thwarted @ every step, but their intermost thoughts & desires r fed with their own food, b it foul or clean. Man is manacled only by himself; thought & action r the jailors of FATE...they imprison, being base; they r also the angles of FREEDOM...they liberate, being noble. Not what he wishes & prays 4 does a man get, but what he justly earns. His wishes & prayers r only gratified & answered when they harmonzz with thoughts & actions.
N the light of this truth what, then, is the meaning of "fighting against circumstance"? It means that a man is continually revolting against effort without, while all the time he is nourishing & preserving it's cause n his heart. That cause may take the form of a conscious vice or an un-conscious weakness; but whatever it is, it stubbornly retards the efforts of its possessor, & thus calls aloud 4 REMEDY. Men r anxious 2 improve their circumstances, but r un-willing 2 n prove themselfs; they there 4 remain bound. The man who does not shink from self crucifixion can never fail 2 accomplish the object upon which his heart is set. This is as true of earthly as of heavenly things. Even the man whose sole object is 2 acquire wealth must b prepared 2 make great personal sacrifices b 4 he can accomplish his object; & how much more so he who would realizz a strong & well poised life? A Man only begains 2 b a man when he ceases 2 whine & revile. And commences 2 search 4 the hidden justice which regulates his life. And he adapts his mind 2 that regulating factor, he ceases 2 accuse others as the cause of his condition, and builds himself up n strong & noble thoughts; ceases 2 kick aganist circumstances, but begains 2 use them as aids 2 his more rapid progress, & as such a means of discovering the hidden powers & possibilities within himself...."U will b what u will 2 b; Let Failure find its false content n that poor word 'environment', But spirit scorns it, & is free. It masters time, it conquers space; It cows that boastful trickster, Chance, & bids the tyrant Circumstance Uncrown, & fill a servant's place. The human Will, the force unseen, The offspring of deathless Soul, Can hew a way 2 any goal, Though walls of granite intervene. B not impatient n delay, But wait as 1 who understands; When spirit rises & commands"...In all human affairs there r efforts, & there r results. The strength of the effort is the measure of the result. Chance is not. Gifts, power, material, intellectual, & spiritual possessions r the fruits of effort. They r thoughts complete, objectives accomplished, vision realized...The vision that u glorify n your mind, the ideal that u enthrone n your heart...this U will build your life by; THIS U WILL BECOME! ! ! ! ! !
