TheGrossUncle (aka Grant Gilliland) has been an animation addict in recovery since his early childhood, and spends a lot of time thinking about funny posture and animals that have personalities. He used to go to art school in Columbus, Ohio and had a green station wagon that at one point had a Wham! tape stuck in the tape deck, unfortunately. Grant now resides in the Mission District of San Francisco, where he can be sighted dodging cars and strange looks alike. He enjoys taking predictable walks and eating peanut butter a little too much…he also enjoys street art, folk art, and doing collaborative work with his good friends. Grant has created artwork for SF Weekly, SF Station, JibJab, Weekly Reader, and a growing list of creative and progressively thinking clients…although he may also be just as busy creating original works for boutiques or just placing small drawings of his lovably bent characters on street corners or bus stop benches. He also enjoys writing character-based short stories, small biographies, and/or excerpts from conversations that seem to go nowhere and everywhere at the same time. He is currently writing and co-producing a puppet show which he hopes to take on the road. He enjoys meeting new people on the inter-web, so give him an
internet-style high five one of these days.
