Tre' Thurman is an artist/producer that has his eyes locked on turning his city of Dayton, Ohio back into the music town it was once known for. "Growing up in Dayton my Dad would have me listening to nothing but oldies from groups from Dayton from the 70's and early 80's; you know anybody from Lakeside, Heatwave, Ohio Players, to Roger and Zapp, " says Tre' Thurman, about his musical influences growing up in Dayton. Tre' has always been a huge lover of Hip-Hop, growing up the youngest in the family he was forced to listen to nothing but classic albums due to his older siblings. "I used to want to watch cartoons and listen to the top 40 hit's on the radio, but as soon as my older siblings came around they would control the remote and make me watch rap city and the box all day." For Tre' you can call that a blessing in disguise because due to his musical upbringing as a child it influenced him into becoming an artist himself. "I would often freestyle in the lunchroom, beat on the tables, and write verses on the back of my homework at school", says Tre', of his early days with hip-hop. With Tre' getting tired of rapping over other people's beats and not having nobody he knows to produce any, he decided to try producing himself. Tre' found it quite easy adapting to producing tracks since he grew up listing to nothing but the songs that were sampled from most the classic hip-hop songs from the 80's and 90's. After convincing his parents into buying him some equipment after his high school graduation, Tre' decided to move to Orlando, Florida to pursue his dreams in the music industry and learn more about it at Full Sail University. While attending Full Sail Tre' really got a dose of good knowledge about the music game. After finishing school in Florida, Tre' decided to move back to where he came from. "I really learned a lot of valuable stuff in the industry down there and made some good connections, but I feel my hometown (Dayton) needs me to bring it back to spark shit up. I can't even name you any hip-hop artists that's from my town that had one hit on the charts," Says Tre', about the state of hip-hop in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio. With plans of showcasing Dayton's finest hip-hop Tre' formed his own record label back in 2006, "Della Drive Records." 1st up from Della Drive Records is Tre' with his upcoming official debut mixtape "Hit's on Deck Vol.1". "I really feel this mixtape is gonna put not only me and my city on the map, but the whole state of Ohio back to where it used to be in the 70's with the music game", says Tre', about his upcoming mixtape. With that being said, be on the lookout for more hit's on deck in the near future from Tre' Thurman and Della Drive Records!!!!
