Electronic / Orchestral / Trip Hop are the first descriptive words that come to mind when listening to ‘ultrameek’.
Born in 1970 Mr. _______ ________took to music at an early age. Began playing a real drum set by the age of seven. In the following years he proceeded to sneak into his older brothers room to steal sessions on his electric bass.
Once he began living out on his own ________ ______ decided that “…a couple more strings couldn’t be that hard…” and so he bought a six string electric guitar that soon became a five string.
And for the record; “A Couple More Strings” is considerably different than the four on a typical bass guitar.
After falling in and out of rock, punk, and goth rock bands in the 1980’s, by the 1990’s __________ _________ was compelled to purchase a keyboard. A sampler / sequencer workstation (in lieu of trying to get three or four musical minds to agree consistently)…And so began the ‘ultrameek’.
DJing and playing live events from 1986 - 2000 under various guises, ‘ultrameek’ enjoyed mild popularity in the southeast United States and some northeastern pockets too.
He released one 12” single on Velocity Recordings record label under the name DJ Whize (pronounced - wise). It was a three track EP in the Drum & Bass vein.
In 2000 ‘ultrameek’ took the needle off the record and unplugged his electronic workstation to take up the role of “Daddy”.
From 2000 - 2006 ‘ultrameek’ stayed home raising his beautiful children.
In 2006 fate granted him the ability to pick up the musical torch and plug it back into the socket.
Now using various instruments in conjunction with a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation: A Mac and some software…in lieu of a keyboard workstation) ‘ultrameek’ is once again able to spit noise out of his head.
Working under various alias’ he does Scores & Cues for film, TV, web, video games, etc. etc.
He has signed a non-binding / non-exclusive contract with Messy Music (www.messymusic.com) in California operated by renowned producer Doug DeAngelis and legendary drummer Kevin Haskins of Love & Rockets / Bauhaus fame.
He is also working under various alias’ producing work for dance music label Velocity Recordings.
