June 9/2009 (Euro-Rock Radio): Ville made an interview with Renegade Radio during the Euro-Rock Radio show (mp3) on June 9. Here are highlights from the interview:

* It now seems certain that HIM's seventh studio album is titled SCREAMWORKS: A Theory in Love and Practice.

* Valo mentioned recording will happen in Los Angeles hopefully in the beginning of August, working with Washington D.C. producer Matt Squire, who is currently located in Los Angeles. The sound of the album keeps changing every day and the songs would land somewhere between "(Rip Out) the Wings of a Butterfly", "The Funeral of Hearts" and "Right Here in My Arms". "It's pretty '80s it's really direct, straight forward and very sing along."

* Being at their rehearsal space daily for about 12 hours, they have about 11 to 12 songs now and hopefully having 15 for the album. "I haven't been going out at all. I've been back home strumming the acoustic guitar, writing down lyrics, working on Pro-Tools and Linde has been picking me up to go rehearsals every other day. ... They have a chorus and they have a verse and they have, maybe some of them have a pre-chorus and they have a middle section (bridge) and maybe some rip-off '80s heavy metal guitar in-between and then it's double chorus and end."

* He says the idea is to get the new album out on Valentine's Day (Feb. 14, 2010) - seeing they go into the studio in August, and it should take from then til' September of this year. They hope to have mixing began before Halloween and then figure out cover art work along with album mastering.

"Negative up to do their new album in Los Angeles

In September, Negative are going to start the recordings for their new album. This time, the band plans to work on the record in LA.
"I met the producer on a music trade fair in Finland and we exchanged numbers. I went to see him at the end of May. We connected and I moved from the hotel to the producer's flat in Santa Monica and we planned the new album", singer Jonne Aaron told the newspaper Iltalehti.

The vocalist plans to go to back to Los Angeles soon in order to fix a closer time schedule for the recordings in autumn. According to him there are already a lot of songs ready, out of which the band choses the best for the record. Jonne told the newspaper, that the Californian climate certainly plays its own part in the atmosphere of the upcoming album.

"Our style will stay the same, but we're going to make this longplayer carefully", he says.

NGT's last record, the b-side-collection God Likes Your Style was released towards the middle of June."

Finnish "love metallers" HIM have set "Screamworks: Love In Theory And Practice" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in February 2010 via Warner Bros. Records worldwide. The CD will be recorded in August at a Los Angeles studio with producer Matt Squire, who has previously worked with TAKING BACK SUNDAY, THE USED, PANIC AT THE DISCO, BOYS LIKE GIRLS and THRICE, among others.

The news of HIM's recording plans was first revealed by the band's vocalist, Ville Valo, during a June 9, 2009 interview with the Renegade Radio Network. That chat is now available for streaming in two parts below.

HIM's last studio album, "Venus Doom", sold 38,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 12 on The Billboard 200 chart. Its predecessor, "Dark Light", has shifted 580,000 units in the U.S. to date.

HIM's CD/DVD set, "Digital Versatile Doom: Live at the Orpheum Theatre", was released in April 2008. The live portion of the DVD was recorded/filmed at the band's November 14-15, 2007 concerts at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. "Digital Versatile Doom" also features a second disc, with the full live performance from The Orpheum Theater and a 16-page booklet of original art and images.
