About the Show
Video Vinyl is a weekly, televised music video show that will be distributed nationally in September 2007 across the Public Television Network.

http://videovinyltv.imeem.com/The ethos behind the program is to provide viewers with a diverse selection of exceptional music content––offering a vital alternative to the mediocrity presented by existing music television outlets.
We do this by showcasing predominantly independent artists from primarily independent labels, as well as highlighting some of the less-saturated material from the majors.
The labels we most heavily represent include: Touch & Go, Matador, Domino, Astralwerks, Epitaph, Sub Pop, Warp, Mute, Stones Throw, Merge, Vagrant, Thrill Jockey, Victory, Rounder, Def Jux, Arts & Crafts, Kemado, Minty Fresh, Kranky, Secretly Canadian, Saddle Creek & 4AD.
We further celebrate the music video as a unique visual art form unto itself, uncovering the latest in cutting-edge animation and filmmaking. To that end, we supplement each weekly six-pack of music videos with extensively researched background on the artists, labels, directors and styles––adding an informed cultural context to what is seen and heard.
Oue core theme is diversity, with every episode featuring a wide array of musical genres, styles of video, and a broad representation of people, cultures & countries.
Because Public Television is broadcast over-the-air, not just on satellite or cable, the 348–station network now reaches a full 99% of the American television market––in each of the 50 states, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa. Significantly, more than 81 million Americans tune into a PBS station every single week.
About the People:
Our Producers, Alison Davis-Wood and Brian Paris, have decades of television experience between them. Alison has won several Emmy’s and Gracie’s for her documentaries and PBS has nationally aired the last three projects she directed. Brian has produced several series for PBS stations, done audio engineering for both television and radio, and directed music videos for a variety of bands.
Our Host & Executive Producer, Chris Green, has worked at labels, owned a venue, and spent a decade on the road tour-managing everyone from Wilco to Metallica’s Jason Newsted to Atari Teenage Riot. He currently is producing the documentary Kurt Cobain: About A Son, the life-story narrated by the late artist himself.
