Regulatuhz is made up of childhood friends, Young Luchiano and Ikon tha Don.
They met on the streets of East New York Brooklyn where they would experience Hip Hop first hand, after Ikon's family moved to ENY from Newark NJ, and Young's family relocated from Stuyvesant Gardens projects in Bed - Stuy Brooklyn.
Ikon tha Don's oldest brother is legendary rapper, and prominent Gang Starr Foundation member "Lil Dap" of the Golden Era duo "Group Home", known for such hits as Supa Star, Suspended in Time, The Realness and Livin' Proof.
From a young age, both Ikon and Young had an extreme passion for music, and used it as a mental, spiritual, and emotional form of therapy. They could be found freestyling on the streets and in the basements of Brooklyn. Listening to the latest tracks and lyrics from their favorite hip hop artists, anywhere there was a radio available.
But it was on November 21, 1995, after the release of Group Home's debut album "Livin' Proof", produced by DJ Premier of Gangstarr, that Ikon and Young would be first introduced to the Hip Hop industry, and take their love of music to another level and begin writing their own lyrics.
They've toured the states and, rocked shows overseas alongside Group Home and other Gangstarr Foundation members.
On the grind independently... they're out to get it!
Hip Hop is their life....now its time to REGULATE!!!
