This was the first national hit for ZZ Top, who were very popular in Texas but little known elsewhere.
This came together one night when they were jamming at one of their shows. They made it up as they went along, with bass player Dusty Hill coming up with the words. The crowd loved it, so they included it in their sets and recorded it on their next album.
